My name is Giulia Carletti and I am a native Italian translator and conference interpreter from English and Spanish into Italian.
Since 2011, I’ve been helping companies to communicate with the Italian market in an effective way, translating their contents and interpreting during events.
I collaborate with brands who care about the planet and its people, and I support them in spreading their message.
What can I do for you?
Dealing with another language and culture might feel daunting, but it can be an incredible opportunity for growth!
Maybe you are organising a conference with International speakers, and you want to reach as many people as possible, making sure everyone can understand and communicate.
Maybe you have a meeting with an Italian client, and you want to make sure the communication flows flawlessly to seal the deal.
Maybe you are wary of translations because you fear the spirit of your message might get lost.
If you want to communicate in Italian in a brilliant, honest and transparent way, you need to work with a professional interpreter and translator – that’s me!
I take care of your words
The name “Words of Nona” is inspired by the Roman goddess who spins the threads of life, as I know for sure that the right words can make or break communication.
When I translate and interpret, I always choose the words to use with the utmost care, because they have to express your message and personality fully.
I know that those who chose me do not settle for average and want effective communication, one that carries the same intensity of the original.
With my approach, my clients can rest assured their message is in good hands. Because of this, they can feel at peace and focus on other aspects of the project they are working on, be it a marketing campaign or an event.

My journey
Born and bred in Rome, adopted by Milan, I have been loving languages for as long I can remember, and I have always been the odd one who enjoyed doing grammar tests – they still feel like a game to me!
For this reason, I earned a BA in Intercultural communication and a MA in Conference interpreting. After an internship at the Interpreter’s office of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, I moved to London to work as an intern in a translation agency. I then lived in the British capital for three years, working as a healthcare and social services interpreter, as a translator and as an Italian moderator for a digital communication agency.
I then moved back to Italy and decided to put my expertise at the service of clients from all over the world.

Something else you should know about me
- As an interpreter, I mainly work in Rome and Milan, but should you need me, I’ll be happy to travel to wherever you may be!
- I lived in Madrid, Dublin and London and whenever I can, I pack my bags to re-visit these places or roam somewhere new.
- I am a (crazy) collector of plant-based cookbooks, which are slowly but surely filling up my bookshelves.
- Almost every Skype (or Zoom) call stars my cat Ziggy – he loves stealing the scene, but with such a name, that’s not surprising at all!
- I always lived in big cities, but over the past years, I discovered a special connection to nature and a passion for the jungle of Central America.
